The Iowa Chapter of AIGA was established in 1994. The chapter is comprised of design professionals working as sole proprietors, principals, educators, or as designers in firms or associations. AIGA Iowa provides its members with local forums for meeting, performing public service, and presenting speakers and traveling programs of national importance to designers and the public.
Design Ethics and Practice
AIGA Iowa believes that designers should be compensated fairly for their work and encourages both students and design professionals to educate themselves on the different types of unpaid work.
AIGA Iowa agrees that there are situations in which unpaid work can be undertaken for the greater good, such as pro bono work, but also acknowledges that situations exist that can take advantage of designers and their talent.
